Major changes to cut number of Welsh MPs published
Major proposals to change Wales' Westminster constituencies have been published, as the number of Welsh MPs drops from 40 to 32.
Surely it would have been better to put the horse before the cart and focus on getting rid of all the showboating charlatans and idiot MPs in Westminster first. Then think about their constituencies. Who would do that though? Not voters obviously.

What about decimation, as per Roman Army discipline?
You could make an argument that any of the countries in the UK that have devolved authority for significant matters should only have 50% of the 'regular' MPs in the UK Parliament.
Will it happen? Nope. All the parties will consider what is most beneficial for them and block any changes (i.e. all of them) that might reduce their numbers in the UK Parliament. Ditto thinning out the Hose of Lords.
My only thin consolation is that the 'bigger' the numbers the slower the pace in introducing new laws.
Yes, it requires a diverted river to clean out these Augean stables.
Sam - good idea. More than one decimation would be even better.
DJ - a lower age limit for MPs would be a start, but an enormous pruning job is needed almost everywhere.
James - yes, although there are too many stables now.
