Good stuff towards the end on the incomprehensibility of lots of modern language. And I like the bit about how telling the truth makes life simpler because you don't have to remember anything. I think the two points are related, in that people get jobs and public positions through lying, and then have to embark upon a career of perpetual obscurantism in order to survive.
Sam - and that career of perpetual obscurantism suits like-minded colleagues. As if entire organisations fail to keep things simple by encouraging truthfulness and eventually become mired in complexities.
Jannie - many members of the political classes seem to give up on that and rely on brazening it out.
