Green Jobs Taskforce

How about a Green Jobs Moot Hall?

Green Jobs Taskforce

To ensure we have the skilled workforce to deliver net zero and our Ten Point Plan, we have launched the Green Jobs Taskforce, working in partnership with business, skills providers and unions, to help us develop plans for new long-term good quality, green jobs by 2030 and advise what support is needed for people in transitioning industries.

Does being a member of the Green Jobs Taskforce count as a green job? If so, why not create thousands of them to speed things up?

This is all the fault of Kermit, because he once sang that 'It's not easy being green, spending your life the colour of leaves'!

Sue The Muppets I say!

(Oh, they already have enough Muppett members, so no need...)!

It's leeches on the back of leeches.

"Green businesses" will claim grants.
There'll be civil servants to oversee the approval of grants to "green businesses"
There'll be private sector pen-pushers specialising in doing grant applications for "green businesses".
There'll be recruitment agencies specialising in recruiting the pen-pushers.
And there'll be accountants and auditors mopping up the spoils.

I thought that quote was from some woke charity, or at best a minor local authority. Imagine my surprise when I clicked on it.

"ensuring we have the immediate skills needed for building back greener, such as in offshore wind and home retrofitting"

Building back greener, reminds me of something.

Retrofitting, I could comment on that but can't be arsed.

Scrobs - that's a thought - they could all dress up as Kermit and be employed as Green Wardens mingling with the yellow Covid Wardens. We could have a rainbow of warden colours eventually.

Mark - that sounds like inside information.

Sam - much of the introductory stuff can be like that - ready for copy and paste journalism and general cribbing I suppose.

Wiggia - I imagine "home retrofitting" means colder houses with lots of bungled contracting to degrade the housing stock.

Interesting fact I read today about offshore wind

I wonder how many more uneconomic turbines there are out there

Graeme - interesting. Without subsidy they all appear to be uneconomic.
