I just love these vague statements.....
"Some analysis shows that if all current pledges are met warming can be limited to just above 2C - which would place levels within striking distance of the Paris goals."

They have no idea whether any of the measures proposed will have any effect at all.
It is all surmise in order to spend vast amounts of tax payer money on unsustainable energy production, the planet will do what it has always done evolve and if that means man is reduced as a species so be it we haven't inhabited the place that long anyway.

Anyone want to buy an Ark.......................

This past year has been one big experiment of drastically reducing man made carbon dioxide.
And the temperature change is....?
And I am not a row boat.

They’re going all out now, no more pretend play by the rules.

The UN chief is absolutely correct. We will have "catastrophic results" if we don't declare a climate emergency. We'll have non-stop coverage in the media of how the climate is going to hell in a handbasket, and we'll probably see a lot more of Greta. That's pretty catastrophic.

There's a huge meeting planned in Glasgow next year, and the awful BBC have booked all the hotels to admit their vast staffing over-spend. Glasgow airport will be covered in private jets too.

I for one won't take a blind bit of notice!

Wiggia - I suspect they know the measures won't have any effect. Much of it feels like the old problem of governments trying to pick winners.

Doonhamer - it wouldn't be particularly surprising if a slight downward dip in temperature emerges fro certain "adjustments".

James - that's my impression too. Biden clinched it.

Sam - seeing a lot more of Greta certainly is pretty catastrophic. She's so horrible that Joe Biden will probably want to meet her for a photo op. She may not be so keen though.

Scrobs - I won't take much notice either, although it may be worth a blog post.
