Interesting antidote to the hype.

Hype there is, and what is interesting is how the Government seem to be at the forefront, rather than trying to present a more nuanced view. I still think that the most useful idea for understanding the Government's response to all this is the awaited comparison between European countries in terms of the final death toll. The guy or gal who presided over the lowest number of geriatrics dying will be the winner. This means that we get treated like mugs, information is never properly shared, and it's all about nudging and influencing or legislating us into the required actions.

My children glimpsed this video and fell about laughing. They think Prof Racaniello looks exactly like me - a living double. He's jowlier, I have to say, and sports a bald patch when leaning forward, whereas I have uniform thinning...

Sam - yes the Government does seem to be at the forefront, as if Boris sees grabbing the first vaccine might off offset the death toll if pursued with gusto and if much is made of Brexit. As if vaccinating millions will change the perceptions of millions. Maybe it will.

Quite a coincidence that Prof Racaniello looks like you - even on the internet we don't come across many people like that. At least I don't. Not sure if that's good though.
