Casting long shadows

Mrs H and I on a hill above Bakewell. A lovely day but strewth it was cold. Not so bad when we came down off the hill.

Yes, it has been cold enough to cause hot-ache when cycling and when walking the dog.

Mind you, better physical pain under blue skies than mental misery under thick cloud.

No sign of 'storm' Bella then...

No, neither here too!

Very windy Saturday night, but sunny and cold on Sunday morning when Mrs DJ and I went for a walk to see if 'the brook' was flooding. Nope, standing water in the fields but the brook was merely full and fast flowing.

Sam - I always found cycling a problem in cold weather - couldn't keep my hands warm whatever I did. It's easier with walking - just pile on the layers.

James - that was it, the wind. Down below and sheltered from the wind I was almost too warm.

Scrobs - Bella was pretty feeble round here. Breezy we'd have called it years ago.

DJ - the river Wye was high and fast flowing with lots of big puddles on low-lying meadows but that was all. We saw a young couple wearing trainers try to cross a waterlogged meadow. Not with much success. It was almost a pleasure to stride past them in walking boots.
