Boris Johnson has warned it may be "bumpy through to Christmas" and beyond as the UK deals with coronavirus.
Speaking to the BBC's Andrew Marr, the PM said there was "hope" in beating Covid, but called on the public to "act fearlessly but with common sense".
He said the government was taking a "balanced" approach between saving lives and protecting the economy.I've tried to point out the current bump in death rates, although the bump may have been bumped up by a vast amount of testing and the general hysteria bumped up by political bumpers. Who knows? Boris doesn't.

The bump in death rates hasn't started or is not being publicised as all those untreated diseases start to rack up, every week now another branch of the NHS is being shown to be totally failing in treating disease, a million Breast cancer screens gone missing and 10,000 deaths from that likely in time.
Perhaps at the three wise men statement days they could show a parallel graph with the deaths caused by denying treatment for everything bar the virus, I don't think they dare.
The ONS stats just out demonstrate precisely of what you speak...they skated over that graph as quickly as you like the other day.
Perhaps Boris meant that it was going to be bumpy for the government when they had to start admitting they were wrong.
Wiggia - that's the big scandal. I can't see how they expect to keep the lid on it forever.
Torquaymada - if the presentation were more honest they would also show deaths from all causes to give a sense of perspective. The trouble is that would make them look silly.
Sam - impossibly bumpy I'd say. I don't see how he can avoid it unless he plans to clear off.
