An opportunity or a threat? How YouTube overtook the BBC
According to official ratings agency Barb, the Google-owned platform now attracts a larger audience than all of the BBC channels combined.
In December, the BBC attracted 50.8 million viewers, compared with almost 52 million who tuned into YouTube on their televisions, smartphones or laptops.

I go to Morrisons or Tescos twice a week and I like that experience, the drive there.
I gladly pay £12.99 to google to not have any ads on youtube. There's music, films, film reviews/analysis, stock markets, lawn care, carpentry/DIY, plumbing, roofing, politics, history, walking and camping, etc etc. Pretty much anything that one is interested in is covered there with good quality and production values.
Not waving but drowning - or so we can hope.
Anon - I agree, the variety is vast. I watch a lot of chess matches at the moment, plus some DIY, old films, politics etc.
dearieme - yes, it's long past its expiry date.
Re your Tesco jaunt: we were tootling about at lunch time. Earlier in the week we tootled in the early afternoon. So I ask: where is everybody? There was next to no traffic, lots of car parking spaces - is everyone slacking from home?
dearieme - our jaunt would have been quiet without the multiple roadworks. Tesco was fairly quiet but maybe lots of working folk are beavering away catching up. Roadworks bods certainly were.
