On the eve of war

We're off into Derbyshire this morning, but it won't be like this.

How attractive: What We Have Lost.

Much of what we have lost has not been the inevitable price of progress, it's been a consequence of extraordinarily incompetent, or malign, government.

There's a lot of this left though, marred by the superabundance of cars. Isn't theirs a Morris 10?

dearieme - yes, incompetent or malign government, it wasn't inevitable. Local government too.

Tammly - there is a lot left in some areas of course, not much in others, but as you say it is marred by the superabundance of cars. Theirs is a Morris 8 convertible according to the YT description.

It's strange but I recognised it as a Morris 8 as soon as I saw it. I remember as a child sometime in the early 50s going on holiday in one that my father had borrowed from a friend. The weather was so good, we had the top down almost all the time.

John - happy days from the sound of it.
