It has not been an "overnight job"

Sir Keir Starmer promises that 'change' will finally arrive in 2026 in New Year's message

The prime minister promised change in his 2024 manifesto, but conceded it has not been an "overnight job". Sir Keir Starmer has fought off rumours of leadership challenges and falling popularity ratings...

As well as political jeopardy, Sir Keir also had to face the sluggish economic growth in the UK and worldwide, alongside an unstable international picture on several fronts.

He, however, vowed to get Britain "back on track".

By gum he's an excruciatingly dull chap. Mendacious yes, but good grief he's so dull the tedium almost obscures his ridiculous dishonesty. Maybe Team Starmer still hopes to sell 'dull but safe' in 2026. Certainly seems like it.

Getting rid of him isn't looking like an "overnight job" either.

Organic, sugar free, artisan strawberry jam tomorrow. Carbon neutral of course.

Our worst PM since Toni Blair. I suppose the only Labour PM who wasn't God-awful was Ramsay Mac. Who was before even my time.

You can tell he was a decent chap: his Labour cabinet betrayed him.

DJ - ah yes, a Green Party favourite. Zack could big up the strawberries with hypnosis.

dearieme - Ramsay Mac. is one of many I'd like to know more about. One day perhaps, but as I grow older the list just grows.
