Labour's defence over 'meddling' in Donald Trump's election bid is 'grossly implausible', say Tories - as ex-Cabinet minister admits it was a 'mistake' for party to help Kamala Harris campaign
It followed Labour staff joining Democrat election efforts ahead of next month's vote, which Mr Trump hopes will see him return to the White House.
Sir Keir has insisted any members of his party teaming up with the Democrats were in the US on an entirely voluntary basis in their spare time.
This must be the weird story of the week. Are Labour bods prepared to pass on their political expertise to the Kamala Harris campaign? Will they divulge the secret of how to harvest fewer votes than Jeremy Corbyn? How they promoted a leader as popular as Keir Starmer?
It's all very weird, but Donald Trump should be encouraging it.

Considering how aerated (some) people were when it was alleged that the Russians were helping Trump will Harris, or the Democrats even recognize the irony?
DJ - I don't think they do irony, it doesn't really mix well with word salads.
I'm sure Putin's "election influences" abroad weren't directly connected to his party either. But it's OK when 2TK and Labour do it.
The Democrats have already learned to flood their country with third world gratitude-voters, so Keir has nothing to offer them there. Perhaps he's a bit concerned about the fact that America still produces oil, coal, and gas, so he's offering them a few hints on how to destroy their economy.
A fine rant against how bogus everything is.
Q: Shall we refer to the Potemkinisation of Politics? A: Don't be silly.

I'd have thought that a few useful idiots chucked over there by TTK would help President Trump tremendously!Just imagine the pink-haired, bestudded pulloverers telling a Yank politician how to do things!
Anon - yes it's OK when 2TK and Labour do it, maybe that's what identity politics is about, they identify as people who can play such games.
Sam - that's a thought, he could send Ed to do that, give him some kind of permanent eco-position in the UK Embassy.
dearieme - it is a fine rant, but something may come of it if people realise they can do bogus just as well as anyone else and bods like Starmer aren't even very good at it.
Scrobs - I agree, TTK's useful idiots must be worth something to the Trump campaign.
