Kemi Badenoch has been tipped to reshuffle her Shadow Cabinet in just days in a bid to quell her restless backbenchers.
MPs are due to return to Parliament for a brief stint in Westminster on September 1, which is when the Conservative leader is believed to be eyeing up an overhaul of her top team.
Claire Coutinho, the Shadow Energy Secretary who has been dubbed a rising star within the party, is expected to step down before she takes maternity leave later on in the year.
Meanwhile, Shadow Solicitor General Helen Grant, the MP for Maidstone and Malling, is also said to be bidding adieu to the Conservative frontbench.
There is a problem with making political sense of any Shadow Cabinet reshuffle, particularly this one. To my mind there are three questions to answer first –
- Does a chap try to recall who is in the current Shadow Cabinet before reading political messages into the reshuffle?
- Or does a chap admit that he can't possibly recall who is in the current Shadow Cabinet so may as well forget all that and take a gander at the new Shadow Cabinet after the reshuffle?
- Or does a chap watch a YouTube video instead?

It is a bit of a one woman show, isn't it? Still, that's better than the Parliamentary Labour Party which admitted that the resignation of Dreary Kierie left them with nobody at all of the least interest.
It is indeed a bit of a one-woman show. However she says the right things and probably means them. Everything depends on whether she can quell (or purge) the wets. I'm by no means sure, at present, that I'll ever trust the Tories again. Over to you Mrs. B.
I've ordered some paint from Amazon. Perhaps watching it dry will be more entertaining, and certainly more enlightening.
James - I don't know much about her, she seems to be a conservative, but her party still appears to be stuck with its old problem of MPs who aren't conservative.
dearieme - yes it is a bit of a one woman show and the party behind her is still very unconvincing.
Peter - maybe she hopes to quell or purge the wets, but whatever they say now, trusting the Tories feels like a hope over experience kind of trust.
DJ - yes, at least paint turns out to have the predicted colour.
She should shuffle herself away. She is bloody useless.
Also, why would I, an Englishman want to vote for a Nigerian Woman as prime minister? Is she likely to do the necessary? I think not!
Mike - she says the right things, but recent Tory party history tells us that's not enough.
