Greek Irony

Wind farm cables triggered huge wildfire in Greece

The blaze began on Friday morning near Agios Vasileios in the Boeotia region at a site known as Mavro Spithari.

Greek authorities have arrested two people after investigators concluded that sparks from electricity cables linked to a private wind farm ignited a major wildfire that has been burning for three days west of Athens...

A similar incident involving the same network occurred only weeks earlier, about 100 metres from the current ignition point, burning around 60 acres before being contained.

I recently watched a programme on Youtube showing the response to a fire in a newly built block of flats somewhere in the southeast. It turned out the fire , which destroyed the block had been started by the solar panels installed on the roof. So much for saaving the climate.

Or just arsonists sent out to do their worst for the agenda.

John - there seems to be a problem with cowboy installers too. As things stand, I wouldn't buy a house with them.

James - in some cases it is, possibly most cases, it wouldn't be surprising.
