Jess Phillips: I hated being in government
The former minister spoke to Sky's Electoral Dysfunction about what it was like being inside government and why it's not on track to hit one of its key targets.
Asked by Sky's political editor, Beth Rigby, whether she would ever go back into government, Ms Phillips said she wouldn't.
"I don't think I'm suited to it, Beth, is the actual answer... I won't go back in and do more of the same. So no is the answer," she said.

She should just have turned up on the first day and then claimed sick leave.

Funny that. We all knew she was not suitable for any job other than serving in her local chippy.
I suppose her saving grace is that she now knows she is a cowardly waste of a seat.
dearieme - ah, Oxford this time, I wonder if they toss a coin?
Mike - even in a chippy she'd burn the mushy peas.
Still, she has earned her pension and will be available for quangos, full and lengthy enquiries, BBC and Grauniad opinion pieces, travels to foreign fields and being an "an anonymous spokesperson" who has reported. Etc. etc. till the House of Lords beckons.
It's a tough life, but someone has to do it.
Doonhamer - yes it's a tough life with only lucrative opportunities now open to her.
