Rachel Reeves voted ‘worst politician of 2024’ as shock voice says 'I’d be getting rid"
The Chancellor has had a turbulent year which concludes with Britain on the brink of recession after growth figures flatlined.
The award was delivered on the Rest is Politics podcast by former Conservative MP Rory Stewart who pointed to recent economic statistics as justification for giving the award to Reeves.
Hardly a shock and it's a crowded field anyway, but that's enough politics for a while. It looks like a pleasant Christmas Day out there, so we're off for a short walk before we cook the ostrich for Christmas dinner.

It really is a shock that Rory Stewart would say that
She's not really any kind of politician at all, and doesn't really try to be. She's just poor Rachel from accounts, trying to balance the books and make us richer with zero discernible talent for doing so.
For politicians, we need to look at those who directly appeal to the public and who try to change how we think. The field seems even more crowded, though.
decnine - I don't know much about the chap, he strikes me as an Establishment Remainer to his fingertips. Not surprised he prefers to lose Reeves rather than Starmer.
Sam - yes, leadership is very thin on the ground. It's as if the possibilities for leadership have been squeezed out in favour of a featureless political nomenklatura.
