Reform UK overtakes Conservative membership - Nigel Farage calls it 'historic', Kemi Badenoch says numbers are 'fake'
Reform UK and Nigel Farage have been involved in a series of furious exchanges online with Tory leader Kemi Badenoch.
According to research from the House of Commons Library, there is no uniformly recognised definition of party membership and no established method or body to monitor the number of members each political group has.
Oh dear, presumably we should now expect a proposal to tidy that up with audited party numbers produced to a bureaucratic standard.
Let us hope not. but some deranged meddlers might see it as an opportunity. Kemi and Nigel may have opened a door here, let us hope not.

I do not remember this kerphuffle when a previous Labour leader reduced the cost of membership to one Green Shield stamp.
Doonhamer - I don't remember that, seems expensive.
