"Nie mój cyrk, nie moje malpy" - the original Polish source of "Not my circus, not my monkeys" i.e. Not my Problem.
Lee Kuan Yew points out that we made Afghanistan our (Western) problem when we didn't need to. Perhaps the Pearl Clutchers are too willing to spend other peoples' money and lives on problems that are not their circus and not their monkeys. I put it down to a continued yearning for Utopia where everyone is treated fairly and all resources are fairly distributed - and nobody can be blamed for not caring enough.
Of course Utopia will never come. Just ask any Afghan Warlord.

I'd like to have seen him up against Blair.
