A horrible shock

Boris Johnson says he wants people to become less apprehensive about the disease.

Maybe so because he wants them to get back to work, but for many the horrible shock was his police state response to the pandemic plus the ease with which it was imposed and accepted. An aftershock came from a sense that other agendas were bundled into the lockdown and this was a dry run for yet more government oversight of daily life.

For me, Heinrich Hancock has been the horror with his attitude. Whole thing’s not been pleasant.

James - I've avoided virtually all of it, couldn't bring myself to watch.

In our village we've just spotted signs telling you to "keep left". As you walk on the pavement.

I think Boris guessed some time ago that we could afford to be less apprehensive, but is gradually reducing the fear factor so that he doesn't look like an idiot who miscalculated.

Sam - we have just seen large red and white plastic blocks used to grab a bit of road so pedestrians can step into the road as they pass each other two metres apart. I think Boris will have a job not looking like an idiot who miscalculated but he's the type to brazen it out.
