Flight along Baslow edge

One of our favourite walking areas. A chap used a drone to make this clip - click through to YouTube for the details.

The subject of this post is in the same area.

That's interesting terrain. The softer hills look as though they could be here in Sussex, but having rocks break through completely changes things. I suppose it's unremarkable for you, but seeing bare rock and boulders always looks alien and vaguely thrilling to me.

Even on a dull day this is great countryside, reminiscent of the Cevannes in southern France.

Sam - yes the bare rock and boulders do add something elemental. Most of our favourite walks are over terrain where exposed rocks are a common sight.

Wiggia - it is great countryside. The only faint regret is that the day will come when we can't walk it.
