‘I can deliver’: Burnham pledges radical change on eve of Labour conference
Exclusive: UK prime minister says delivering fiscal stability would be ‘crucial’ to be able to fix bigger problems
Andy Burnham has said he can deliver on his promise of radical change for the country despite severe economic headwinds, telling the Guardian: “There’s always things you can do; it’s just whether you’re prepared to do them.”
More low grade twaddle, particularly low when we consider the level of confidence which must have induced Makerfield voters to go skipping off to the polling station or faithfully fill in their postal vote(s).
Nothing about bus fares in there, but Burnham makes an unusually good point when he says -
“There’s always things you can do; it’s just whether you’re prepared to do them.”
Two good points in one really, there are always things he can do, but it is a question of whether a leader with his party background and remarkably modest abilities would be prepared to do them.

The answer is 'no'.

Like take an axe to welfare, stop pandering to the "special needs" bullshit which is crippling education in schools.
Stop importing criminals and other trash.
Not going to happen is it Andy? Your mp's won't stand for it becayit would be good for the country and bad for the client vote.
Mike - I agree, the changes we need are obvious but he won't do anything about any of them. We're too far gone politically.
Prophecy: Affable Andy won’t do anything other than the standard left wing fare of ‘tax and spend’ whilst avoiding all difficult questions, e.g. welfare.
All high taxpayers will be scared away, leaving the bill for the lower middle classes to pick up the bill.
Prove me wrong.
"...but it is a question of whether a leader with his party background and remarkably modest abilities would be prepared to do them."
Or allowed to do them by the *real* powers that be. See Liz Truss as a worked example of someone trying to do unsettling things.
If you really want to stop illegal immigration set up tent cities on Golf Courses and the streets of the City of London.
Chris - I agree with your prophecy, Affable Andy will tax, spend and evade. The only bright spot is that he may be too useless to hang on for long, although the blame game in his favour has been ramped up and up.
DJ - yes, Liz Truss is a chilling example of what the Machine will do to anyone who steps out of line. Burnham is an example of an acceptable PM.
