You could make an argument that Happy Chappy Andy was made Leader of the Labour Party *not* to do different things but to replace the Starmerdroid by someone more ordinary. So reusing desperate plans is quite acceptable, even if they are feeble.
The real risk is that by replacing Rachel Reeves we might get someone more politically motivated as Chancellor, unrestrained by the dead hand of Starmer. The next Budget will be the test.

It's striking how recent governments have failed to conceal the theatrical aspect of politics where they are merely following scripts because the Machine's levers of power are no longer accessible.
