The chair of parliament’s Science, Innovation and Technology committee has called on the new prime minister to pass laws intended to “restore responsibility and accountability to both tech bros and governments”.

Chi Onwurah (pictured above), a former telecoms engineer, shadow digital minister and long-standing government tech watcher, said that “40 years of neoliberalism” has cultivated “a libertarian attitude to technology, best exemplified in the reluctance to regulate the internet”.

Ah yes, it's “40 years of neoliberalism” again, one of Burnham's favoured chants.

We've not heard of the 'Gnomes of Zurich' for a while. Perhaps anther bead to add to the necklace alongside 'Thatcher', 'Colonialism' and 'Capitalism'?
