I've no particular objection to revising the 'triple lock' since it was introduced to restore the value of the State old age pensions - which had been allowed to fall, and fall.
Arguably the State old age pension has recovered somewhat and a review is sensible. What a pity that no sunset clause was built into the original legislation.
I wonder what other State benefits could do with a review? The Cheerful Chappie doesn't seem as keen to address *that* problem.
They may as well have got a cardboard cut out and clipped together a load of labour leader speeches since they were booted out in 79. The bloke is a total waste of space - reminds me of the tory Indian one.
Affable Andy, King o’ t’North, (neatly sidestepping the fact that for 2/3 of the UK, Manchester is in the South) will now return us to hyper inflation, blackouts and mega strikes.
PS, don’t mention he comes from Aigburth, a very swish part of Liverpool (if there is such a thing.) This, however wasn’t good enough, so the family moved to Cheshire, even swisher.
DJ - the government seems to be relying on a frozen personal allowance to creep up on pensioners. It probably is worth revising the 'triple lock' but UK pensions are not generous for a developed country.
Mike - I agree, so far he seems to have nothing to offer and a cardboard version would work just as well.
Chris - I don't know the area, but his background seems to be posher than he likes to pretend. The prospect of inflation, blackouts and strikes bothers me because he clearly has no idea how to prevent it.

And we’ll pay for it, literally and figuratively.

Yep, he’s a man of the people.
