As mentioned elsewhere, perhaps the main parties not fielding a candidate is for one of two reasons (there may be a third).
1. Humiliating a man they hate by making him compete for votes against a comedian, or;
2. Scared that if they do field a candidate, and Farage is selected, they will be humiliated themselves in the voters showing they don't believe a word the Lib/Lab/Con conglomerate say.
Either way, they probably see it as a win win situation.
Off topic, after seeing the Count's manifesto, I'm thinking of moving to Clacton so I can vote for him.

Penseivat - the other parties probably see it as as a win win situation, although Farage could harvest a lot of publicity while rubbing in how the main parties are Establishment parties acting together.
It will be interesting to see how Reform and Farage support goes in polls.
