When I was a young academic my first consulting job was assessing the climate-worthiness of designs for blocks of flats for Libya. It proved easy to demonstrate how much they'd overheat and, as I twiddled about with options, I realised I was reinventing aspects of "Moslem Architecture".
dearieme - sounds interesting, I wonder if their ceramic tiles had a function which was more than decorative. During the warm weather I've noticed how cool our ceramic floor tiles feel when I wander around in bare feet.
