Sir Keir Plans Slower Train Wreck

PM 'planning major reset in bid to save job - but ministers tell him to plan resignation instead'

Sir Keir Starmer is said to be planning a major "reset" speech in a bid to save his job - just as pressure grows for him to step aside completely.

The Prime Minister is set to make an address on Monday to win back young voters from the Greens - which have already started eating away at Labour councils up and down the country.

But around his Cabinet table, ministers are said to have started suggesting he should set the wheels in motion to stand down.

While multiple Labour MPs went public in the early hours of Friday morning to call for him to go.

He's an incompetent, delusional obsessive, but Ed Miliband isn't any better.

Ed Miliband was reported to have privately suggested Sir Keir should set out a timeline for his departure.p

What a rabble they are.

Replacing Starmer is risky… but if politicians are to fear the electorate again then bad politicians and bad parties *must* be punished.

Train wreck? Private plane wreck, more like.

DJ - it feels risky to me too. As has been said before his replacement could be worse.

dearieme - good point, maybe the plane trips are why he's clinging on, they give him a break from the rabble.

Starmer's Government is working out exactly as I thought it would. These really are changing times, but amongst this fragmentation everyone is mentioning, I think there is a lot more change to come. I'm going to the inaugural meeting of the Daventry branch of Restore tomorrow morning. Shall I report back?

Tammly - yes, if you have time leave a comment or send an email, it should be an interesting meeting.

It seems to me that the wreckage is so wide spread that the electorate have shown quite clearly that they have had enough of this whole government. I cannot see that they have any legitimacy to continue in their attempt to govern. They should be treated with the contempt they deserve.

John - I agree, legitimacy has gone. Not that there was much to begin with, Starmer came to power on a third of the vote and treated it as a mandate.
