Can you still buy a convertible with a metal roof? I've not seen one - or at least recognised one - for ages. Mind you a convertible would be no use to us unless it had jacks under the seats so that one wouldn't need mountaineering kit to climb in or out.
dearieme - I haven't seen one for ages either, the extra weight seems to have pushed manufacturers towards soft tops. Mazda still seems to make the MX5 version and our old MX5 has one, but climbing in or out isn't getting any easier.
The road clearance at the front of those vehicles seem awfully low. Would love to see them try to cope with the vicious speed bumps installed by my "cars bad, cycles good" council. Penseivat

Penseivat - yes it does seem low. It wouldn't cope well with the speed bumps on our road.
