Bosses hit out at PM's 'nonsense' that Labour had 'stabilised the economy'
Business leaders last night rounded on the Prime Minister over his claim that he is backing them ‘to the hilt’ as grim figures laid bare the pressures firms face...
Starmer told the conference: ‘We’ve stabilised the economy, and now we can go on to the next phase of government, building on that foundation, building a future of renewal that you can feel.
'And that means, of course, that we have to back you to the hilt – trust me, I’m fighting for you.’
The problem we face is that the headline is right, Starmer does talk nonsense.
The other problem we face is that his eventual replacement will talk nonsense too.

If TwoTier meant that the economy has been edged closer to Socialist control and now the Government (or the Fabians at its heart) intends to ease into the next closer step then I guess he spoke truly.
He just used rhetoric in an attempt to convince. Not working. Hark back to the old election posters: "Labour isn't working."

Nothing learned since 1978.
When a politician says, "trust me", that's the time to start worrying.

Another lie - 'we have stabilised the economy'... Absolute rubbish!
What has a hilt? And it is in your back up to the hilt.
Surkier is a type of lawyer. So his words mean exactly what he says, and if you care to interpret these words in a different way. Well that is not his problem
Keir Starmer “deeply regrets” his “island of Starmers” migration speech.
Well, Starmers are indeed strange. Well, this one is anyway. His father seemed to be made of much better stuff.
DJ - I think he does mean that, he gives no indication whatever that he has another destination in mind other than Socialist control of everything.
Penseivat - yes it is time to start worrying, possibly a hint that his faith in his Socialist ideology is absolute.
Scrobs - it is rubbish, but not easy to tell if he knows it's rubbish.
Doonhamer - ha ha, he always seems to miss implied imagery like that. Maybe his speech writers know it and are just having fun while he lasts.
dearieme - his mother was probably fond of him so maybe there were only two on his island, no strangers.
