Sainsbury's opens the menagerie door
Autistic man in legal battle with Sainsbury's over assistance cat ban
A man with autism has launched legal action against Sainsbury's for denying entry to his assistance cat.
Ian Fenn, 51, relies on Chloe, 12, to face the world every day and stop him feeling "overwhelmed".
But Mr Fenn was left "upset" and "trembling" after he says he was ordered out of a branch of the supermarket in Clapham Common, south London, which knocked his confidence.

I saw a couple of years ago that an American woman had boarded her flight with her companion peacock.
Chloe said she's going to switch to Ocado home deliveries.
The little shit should stay at home.
Like it.
The little shit is soon on talkradio.
How does a cat 'assist'? I suppose it might lead one towards the meat or fish counter in the supermarket, but FFS why a cat - an animal known to 'do its own thing'?
But why not 'go large' and have an assistance tiger? Autism might seem less of a issue with a tiger on a lead...
dearieme - a few years ago we saw a peacock walking up the middle of our road. I don't know if it was a companion peacock though.
Sam - she should just do it to avoid further embarrassment.
Anon - and home is where he could easily order online to avoid the anguish.
James - it's strangely reassuring too.
Anon 2 - it's a man bites dog story, bound to attract the media.
Ed - an assistance rat would stir things up too.
Is there an elephant in the room........................
Most of these so called 'service' dogs are nothing of the sort, they are just a prop, as in look at me, people buy and put a jacket on.
We had a tree surgeaon work for us about four years ago, he insisted on bringing his dog with him, not a problem, but I asked him why he took the dog everywhere as it is hardly convenient if you are up a tree and the dog is roaming about, it is garden trained he said, and with that it crapped on my lawn.
Wiggia - if the dog crapped on your lawn I bet it wasn't unusual for him to do that.
Poor cat
Bucko - yes, it probably hates being taken to Sainsbury's.
