A quick win for Boris

Source

As soon as everyone has their windows open and winter is upon us, Boris could propose an immediate impact on number 7 in his Ten Point Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution.

7. Homes and public buildings: Making our homes, schools and hospitals greener, warmer and more energy efficient, whilst creating 50,000 jobs by 2030, and a target to install 600,000 heat pumps every year by 2028.

He could call it the Now Close Your Windows One Point Plan.

That's not going to hit his target for creating 250,000 new jobs, though. We need a new team of local authority window closers, a bit like the old lamp-lighters. Or maybe he could offer subsidies for a quarter of a million rich people to employ butlers and maids.

Either way, it's a certainty that there will be enough unemployed people around to do these jobs.

Opening Widows is a sore point here. I can't make some of the software work as well as it should...

Boris is proving to be a big disappointment now. I haven't seen any BBC for a week, and still feel bad!

Sam - and many of those unemployed people could be those who once had a viable business.

Scrobs - Boris just gets worse and worse.

Ed - it may be that these days too many people spend too much time indoors. Even before the coronavirus mess we thought supermarkets were a source of coughs and colds and possibly flu.
