The A38 this morning -an overturned lorry shed its load of broken glass intended for recycling. It must say something about our society. Not the overturned lorry, but the idea of carting tons of broken glass around the country.

When I was a lad the only distance involved was to the local Milk Marketing Board bottling plant, the Corona factory or various Breweries. None of them more than 5 miles from here...
A Youtube clip, showing how waste paper is dealt with sends shockwaves through Scrobs.
The amount of nasty substances like bleach, being used is astonishing, and all to supply the free mags, catalogues and rubbish everywhere.
We live near a pub, and the clatter of empty bottles being collected is gladdening however, as it's a great place, and ear-bashing, as it can wake the whole village after a bank holiday...
No AK. Old paper must be recycled and made into poor quality 'new' paper. If you want wood based stuff to burn then you need to cut down ancient US forests, make all the high quality wood into pellets, ship them across the Atlantic and burn those. I'm sure there is a very good reason for such madness - it's just that I can't see it - but it's probably to do with Brexit, or the weather, or chemtrails or a Chinese spy ring operating in Chingford or something.
Woodsy - good point. It could be all of them - Brexit, the weather, chemtrails and a Chinese spy ring operating in Chingford. Even Chinese mobile phones.

Could be an insurance scam. If the owner puts in a claim for antique mirrors and chandeliers, then the police need to investigate.

Dave - that sound like my experience as a lad too. Not only that but milk was delivered by an electric milk float.
Sam - good point, although Peroni labels may give the game away.
Scrobs - as far as I can see waste paper may as well be burned.
