Potential New Labour Leader

Not a person I know much about, but surely Labour must have some decent MPs who could do the job.  One would do.

Linked with the Potential New Labour Leader YT is the news that Keir Starmer's chief of staff, Morgan McSweeney, has resigned over the Mandelson scandal.

Well, someone had to go - but will it be enough to 'save' Stumbler? I suspect not, it only puts off the day of reckoning. And, more importantly, who would be willing to step up and seize the poisoned chalice of Premiership?

Slagella Rayner: there must be people inside HMRC wondering how best to play this.

The trouble is that there are so many who believe their own publicity and would jump at the chance of all that power, influence and, above all, MONEY!. The effects on the country and the long-suffering population would certainly not be the first consideration.

Larry the Cat is my pick for best replacement.

DJ - I hope it's not enough to save Stumbler, but if McSweeney is a political strategist, does it imply that his advice is supposed to be better than checking the entrails of a chicken?

dearieme - ha ha, I do like that - Slagella. I wonder what the betting is within HMRC?

Jannie - it's staggering when we have to accept that they really do believe their own publicity, but they do.

Woodsy - and Larry isn't a liar.
