Linked with the Potential New Labour Leader YT is the news that Keir Starmer's chief of staff, Morgan McSweeney, has resigned over the Mandelson scandal.
Well, someone had to go - but will it be enough to 'save' Stumbler? I suspect not, it only puts off the day of reckoning. And, more importantly, who would be willing to step up and seize the poisoned chalice of Premiership?
"who would be willing to step up and seize the poisoned chalice" The trouble is that there are so many who believe their own publicity and would jump at the chance of all that power, influence and, above all, MONEY!. The effects on the country and the long-suffering population would certainly not be the first consideration.

Slagella Rayner: there must be people inside HMRC wondering how best to play this.
