Angela Rayner has been publicly backed by Maryam Eslamdoust, general secretary of the Transport Salaried Staffs’ Association (TSSA), to potentially replace Sir Keir Starmer.

Whilst we have to accept that Starmer is a boil on the backside of the UK, we also have to accept there can be much worse than him. Your headline picture displays such quite clearly, with two short planks winning any intellectual tussle with ease.

We need to pray he remains, not because of his abilities (he has none) but the low level pond life who may take over will be far worse.

Lammy as DPM and then temporary PM? In what universe does that make sense?

dearieme - or a bigger one for the whole Cabinet, or maybe a huge hot tub.

Chris - that bothers me too, all of the likely replacements could be even worse, partly because he or she will be given an easy ride by the party until the disasters pile up again - which they will.
