Although we don't really have exact knowledge of what is going on in world politics, little things like this make certain specific facts very clear. Whatever they are planning for us, they dare not risk selling it to us. Big programmes like inoculation and increasing agricultural production - they might have been controversial in some respects, but governments were open about them. They did a sales job.
Now, they have been panicked by the spectre of "misinformation". So why don't they simply start a debate about what counts as correct information, and let us know the types of things they are planning for us? If it were genuinely desirable, we would lap it up, wouldn't we!
Sam - it's as if they have to cling on to their political elite status and it that requires the covert development of repressive censorship, then they will do it. It seems to be a problem with elite mediocrities who can't compete within the marketplace of ideas, their debates have to be rigged, otherwise they wouldn't be elites.
