I haven't told many people - only a few million
New York Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has tearfully revealed that she is a survivor of sexual assault as she talked about the trauma she felt during the deadly insurrection at the US Capitol.
The 31-year-old made the revelation during a 90 minute Instagram live video on Monday night that has been viewed more than 1.4 million times.
'I'm a survivor of sexual assault, I haven't told many people that in my life.
'As a survivor, I struggle with the idea of being believed.'
She gave no details about the assault or when it took place.

This couldn't be her drawing attention to herself, again, we live in age "were things that never happened" are now standard practice online and in politics as a way to get on the front pages or seek the sympathy vote.

No facts given here either, how do people like that end up in positions of power, but it is now a problem world wide as recent events show and the standard of those who govern sinks to an all time low.
Occasionally-Coherent must be suffering from a lack of media attention to reveal her traumatic past. I hope she's still got a few more stored memories, ready for release when she's not in the spotlights.
Somewhere there is someone who is still having nightmares about her/his/their first and only attempt at kissing someone without the written consent of the "victim".
I can only think that the perpetrator was drunk, drugged up, or a Democrat, and made the approach from the rear.
Lucky to get away without face being chewed off.
Wiggia - I agree, why do people vote for them? It's a weakness of democracy which should exclude such people but doesn't.
Ed - I'm sure you are right, it is a lack of media attention, but she may still be working on those stored "memories".
Doonhamer - and even written consent could be claimed as forced written consent at a later date. Once the integrity goes, that's it.
