Here we are, it's June 10th, wet and miserable outside, the gas fire is on and so is the central heating. If only the climate loons were right about something. Anything would do to set the ball rolling. Central heating not needed in June - that would be a start.

"The preferred term is now "climate change", precisely to fend off ignorant, denialist comments like the one above. It's cold and wet because the climate is changing. Of course, it it were hot and dry, that would also be evidence of climate change. If it were exactly in line with seasonal averages, that would mean that mankind is disturbing the natural rate of change, so that's us changing the climate.
Whatever, I don't really care about the climate, you're not recycling enough stuff or you've ruined my life in some other hard to define way, and as soon as we get some power you'll be bloody well for it, just don't say you've not been warned..."

At the weekend I found I agreed with Mr Corbyn - not Jeremy but his brother Piers, who is an Astro physicist. He doesn’t think carbon dioxide is very important in causing warming/climate change. His view is that variations in solar activity drive the change plus the alignments of other planets etc. He has worked out a system from past variations in the cycle which enables him to make long range forecasts. From the absence of sun spots, he reckons we are at the beginning of a new cold spell/mini ice age - like the ones which used to freeze the Thames.
It was a most interesting, persuasive meeting with ample references to observations rather than computer programmes.
He runs a prive forecasting service called WeatherAction.
The organisers of the meeting had asked local schools if they would like to attend to discuss the scientific evidence. The teachers replied that they were only allowed to teach them official theory and it would confuse the pupils to hear anything else. The indoctrination has gone very deep. A neighbour of mine started a discussion on this topic with his teenage granddaughters. They were horrified “ Don’t you care about us, Grandpa?” they asked.
Sam - maybe what we need is a message on each yogurt pot which tells us how many nanoseconds of nice weather we should get when we recycle it. That should hammer the message home, especially when people start thinking about their holidays.
Doonhamer - next week it could be Climate Clumsiness. Maybe our emissions are making the climate more clumsy and more prone to upset the orderly operation of weather systems.
Scrobs - that's probably what we should do - burn it in modern incinerators.
Edward - I've watched a few videos of Piers and I like his forthright approach. Maybe he is unknowingly giving us a clue about his brother's sense of inferiority.
I often wonder if the indoctrination of children will backfire as climate change becomes associated with childhood and not necessarily part of the adult world.
They - "They" tell us that "Man", and presumably all the other genders, can change the climate.
But we the people are never asked what climate we would like.
Surely such an important change (assuming that adjusting Climate Change is itself a change) should be decided by a democratic vote.
A referendum!
The way it is being done at present is entirely un-democratic.
Can we campaign for a referendum - maybe a multi-choice one.
After all we will be paying for it.

How right you are! I suggest you contact the Church of England which actually has a campaign for CLIMATE JUSTICE.
They will see that the available weather/climate is fairly distributed.
Having given up on most traditional/biblical Christian teaching, this is the new Orthodoxy and heretics are strictly shunned.
I got an inkling of how it will work,,listening to the BBC World Service one sleepless night. A representative of the Kenyan pasrtoralists recounted that they had always been able to find grazing for their cattle by using their people’s accumulated folk wisdom. This was no longer working. So it must be due to the CO2 which Western capitalists had put into the atmosphere and could they please have their compensation now? The fact that the huge increase in such emissions was coming from further East ( China, India etc) appeared to have passed him by. But I guess he knew the answer which would come from that quarter, so concentrate on appealing to post colonialist guilt, The New colonialists from China were unlikely to be sympathetic.
Silly you they ( that is the Green Zealots) rebranded some time ago to 'Climate Change' to get away from the embarrassing fact that the climate isn't warming.

Edward - yes the C of E seems to show signs of dementia these days.
Niall - but if you accuse them of this they are liable to claim that the term "climate change" has always been used, which it has but it was used much more frequently from the mid 90s. Hedging their bets of course.
