A barefoot protest would be more convincing

Approval of new drilling in North Sea ‘would break Labour’s manifesto’

Protesters, who were dressed as firefighters in front of a banner reading ‘world on fire’, gathered in London.

Could be wrong, but from what I see those people are wearing shoes mostly made from oil-derived products such as polyurethane, nylon and EVA.

A barefoot protest would be more convincing. Not much more convincing in summer though.

Barefoot? Would be pretty smelly perhaps?

James - I expect it already is smelly in this weather and all that gear. Sweaty polyester probably.

I was reading just this morning , that one of the reasons for increasing temperatures is that there is less atmospheric pollution allowing more direct sunlight to reach the ground

John - yes, whatever the reason, more sunlight does seem to be reaching the earth and the oceans. Could be reduced cloud cover too, many people think so and pollution could affect that, but not CO2.

This is utter nonsense. Temperatures are not increasing above bounceback from the last Ice Age. The hot weather this year is purely due to the arbitrary behaviour of the location of the Jet Stream.

Tammly - I agree and we don't know what drives the bounceback, although sun and clouds seem to be a worthwhile start.
