Climate Change and Energy: World Leaders in Turmoil – ‘There is no evidence that UN Climate COP meetings & more than $10 trillion spent on renewables over the last 30 years have affected the climate’

The average atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration, which is blamed for global warming, has been rising over the last 50 years without any change to the trend.

Is the climate changing? Yes.

Is the contribution of the works of man a significant element of climate change? Probably not significant.

Have lots of people and organisations made a lot of money asserting that we are all guilty of hurting Gaia? Yes.

Anthropogenic Global Warming (and previously Global Cooling) is political, not scientific, and should be treated with great scepticism.

"World leaders in turmoil" as usual but watching their money pot continuing to bubble nicely.

Don't you worry about that graph, dear blogger. Sir Kear Winker will make all the difference.

DJ - I agree, it is political, not scientific. In the early days there were hints that it was a UN scheme based on a drive towards global equality where the developed world would restrict its use of fossil fuels to allow the developing world to catch up. It was bound to evolve into a racket though, and it did.

Jannie - yes, it's a racket underpinned by politics. They may soon need another one though.

dearieme - he's doing that, he is making a difference. He's a weird chap though, I don't know what he thinks he'll do after this PM mess.

Eventually, when the non participation of CO2 in any global warming becomes irrefutable, and oil is confirmed not to be a fossil fuel, can we have all those trillions back please. I'm waiting. And I want my share!

Tammly - we could call it 'reparations' and wasn't it done on behalf of the developing world? If so they owe us trillions.
