There's gossip in the political pages that Dear Ed Miliband would be a contender for PM if Starmer resigned (or was pushed).
I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Especially as Lammy is another alternative.
DJ - yes, he seems to be popular within the party. We don't know if he'd retain his fanaticism as PM, but it's not an experiment I'd like to see tried. It would be interesting to know what party strategists think, because he doesn't come across as someone who could restore their polling numbers.
