If the projections are correct

Map pinpoints the 25 UK seaside towns predicted to be underwater in 2030

The future is looking bleak for several UK seaside towns, with a concerning number predicted to be underwater in 2030. Although the weather isn't always great, the UK is a great place for beach lovers, as it is home to a diverse range of beaches, from golden sands to rugged coastlines.

However, we are at risk of losing some of our most loved holiday destinations as several UK seaside towns, particularly those along the east coast and in the south, are predicted to experience significant coastal flooding and potential submersion by 2030 due to rising sea levels. If the impact of climate change is not curtailed, then in just five years some of our iconic seaside spots could be thrown into jeopardy...

A map courtesy of Climate Central shows the lands projected to be below annual flood level in 2030 and explores sea level rise and coastal flood threats...

The map also shows that much of Newport, south Wales will fall victim to rising sea levels if the projections are correct.

My projection is that this projection won't occur by 2030 if my projection is correct. Blimey, it doesn't even mean anything. Pretty basic I'd say - starting off with language which means something.

I predict that the entire climate change game will disappear up its own fundament by 2030 if my prediction is correct.

I predict that Keir Starmer will turn into Harriet Harman by 2030 if my prediction is correct.

I predict...

I looked for the report that the map came from and I found no link. I therefore expect that the source data for the map carries so many qualifications that it wouldn't make newsworthy copy.

I no longer trust MSM news reports. They are of 'entertainment use' only.

One more example of scaremongering bollox from someone who needs to get a proper job.

We can only hope at this point.

DJ - I agree, the most interesting aspect is how they spin stories from material which wouldn't be newsworthy without the spin. We also have outfits in the middle which pick up the original material, pump it up and distribute it to news outlets.

Jannie - and they need to get a proper job before AI takes over.

James - there are clues that hope may not be misplaced.

Oh I do like to be beneath the seaside
Oh I do like to be beneath the sea
Oh I do like to swim along the prom, prom, prom
Where the brass band drowns tiddly-om-pom-pom.

On 21st June 2018, that climate sage, Gretel Thunderbox posted,
"A top climate scientist is earning that climate change will wipe out all of humanity, unless we stop using fossil fuels of the next five years." Of course, successive governments took the word of an autistic child, brainwashed by her activist parents, as the truth. Earlier than this, some moronic American.politician said that the Maldives would be underwater within 5 years due to climate change (think he actually said 'global warming') because of excessive use of fossil fuels, and successive governments took his words as the truth (they recently opened a second airport).
I sometimes wonder if these successive governments are the real autistic, brainwashed, morons.

dearieme - ha ha, very good.

Penseivat - we know about true believers like Gretel Thunderbox, but it's not easy to know what motivates true believers among politicians. They could be morons and some probably are, but for others it looks like money and status. Maybe that's it - follow the money and the cushy jobs.

Or perhaps they like playing for the winning team and will be the first to swap sides once the con runs out of puff.

DJ - that too, and if the con does run out of puff, people like Ed Miliband may be left in Jeremy Corbyn type isolation.

I wonder how many morons use coastal erosion as a proxy for rising sea levels?
