The only consolation

Source

The only consolation after having voted for this lot is that they humiliated monomaniac Corbyn and his disgusting cronies in the aftermath of the last general election. Apart from that - no other consolations at all.

Maybe Brexit if all goes well but who would bank on that? It is even tempting to suppose that the current mess is a deliberate lesson for us - make post-Brexit life as crappy as possible.

We only replace the top 650 in the pyramid, the rest get passed between governments, its simple really, audit fire and hire every change of government from the top down and you MIGHT get decent government. Act like a gentlemans club, you get the staff running the club raiding the kitty and roles get passed down to the kiddies, with an ever bigger staff as time goes on.

The nightmare plays out like this. After several years of austerity, civil unrest and rampant civic covidism, Boris's replacement says something like this:

"Look folks, we gave it our best shot, but the virus just defeated us. It's done the same to European countries, so it looks as if some kind of political and economic union is required. Not the old EU, of course. But getting together is the only way we are going to regain our old prosperity and freedoms..."

DK - yes that's a problem and the international links between government bureaucracies have made it worse. The big political parties don't seem to be at all interested in solving it.

Sam - all too plausible and it could just happen anyway without any need to explain.

Wiggia - only £5?
