Greta Attenberg speaks out

'Tragic, desperate mess'

"At last nations are coming together and recognising we all live on the same planet," Sir David acknowledges. "All these seven worlds are actually one and we are dependent on it for every mouthful of food we eat and every breath of air we take.

"We have it in our hands and we've made a tragic, desperate mess of it so far."

Meanwhile we treated ourselves to a walk in the hills around Bakewell after first stopping off for a coffee. The coffee shops were as busy as one would expect on such a pleasant Sunday. I took a couple of photos of the "tragic, desperate mess." Maybe Sir David should get out more.

Yes, looks like Armageddon to me.

There are plenty of tragic, desperate messes out there, but you have to go looking for them. And one incentive to look for them is if you get wealth and status for finding them.

You wonder what the Attenborough residence looks like...

This from a man who has made a very good living by jetting about the world with a very large entourage , all at the licence payers expense. I bet he doesn't fly economy either.

Sam - and the tragic, desperate messes tend to be associated with a lack of prosperity which Sir David would probably prefer to ignore.

Graeme - I wonder if he only has one.

johnd - yes, swanning around at the licence payers expense really grates.
