As mentioned in the previous post I have a new camera, a Nikon S7000. It had to fit into my pocket while out walking and have a reasonable optical zoom without costing too much.
I haven't done much with it yet, but the above photo is a teal seen at Carsington Water taken on maximum zoom - 20x. Without the zoom it would have been a tiny brownish blob out on the mud. Not David Attenborough standard but I'm pleased with it. Here's a squirrel on the lawn, also at maximum zoom.

That teal picture is very nice. Is the little green patch under it's rear end the reflection of its wing-patch, or is it a migrant that has been feeding near Sellafield?
That's an excellent choice.
Years ago, YD bought me one of its smaller brothers, a 2200, which is a minnow compared to yours. It's still in regular use, and fine for pics on the PC!
Yesterday, I took a big Lumix to the GD's Christmas Panto, and it was far too cumbersome to wave around while all these tots are leaping in all directions, and singing their hearts out...
Wish I'd taken the minnow!
Confess, you brought that squirrel with you, didn't you? Tcha, photographers and their props!
Sam - it could be Sellafield-related discharge. A night photo would settle it.
Michael - yes if I had a bigger camera I wouldn't take it on walks and lose half the reason for having one.
Sackers - the Norwegian Blue squirrel? Lovely fur.
