This story from NoTricksZone is an interesting one for the dwindling band of people who may still harbour a few tattered hopes that our EU leaders are actually sane.

EADS lobbyists?
With no nuc power stations on the horizon we will have to rely on coal and gas and oil - all carboniferous sources. This will not stop the carbon trading bandwagon - a fraud on the public, a makework for bureaucrats and a gravy-train for lobbyists.
We might try squeezing all that CO2 back in the ground like a gigantic lemonade bottle. But the engineer in me feels this sounds an expensive idea and rather liable to fail. Unless of course we pump cheap white wine down with it, pump it up again and flog it as champagne.

Roger - apart from other considerations, pumping CO2 into the ground is beyond useless unless China and India stop growing.
