It would appear that some lunatic (not a pun, honest) ideas are difficult to shake. So if the Moon is plasma the laws of gravity are wrong seems like the plasma tail wagging a huge and bulky dog.
DJ - it's odd when ideas are this extreme, yet there are people who take personal ownership of some very flaky ideas. Perhaps lunatic ideas help us in our assessment of better ones.
Peter - yes, it's a journalist's starting point, not usually worth reading.

Anything that starts off "Scientists say..." should be treated with the contempt it almost certainly deserves.
