A problem with the Peter Mandelson debacle is how difficult it is to crank up some outrage, a flicker of surprise or even a raised eyebrow.

In my opinion Mandelson operated as a 'fixer' or vizier who was excused his faults because of his usefulness to the Great and Good.
Once his usefulness ended he became a target for criticism. A lot of criticism.
Either that or he is a deviant and pervert who operates well amongst other deviants and perverts.
Manglebum needs to be careful or someone may Epstein him.
The Dark Lord hath fallen.
DJ - it must have been an odd position, having to be useful but probably not accepted by the Establishment. He also bungled things, as if he never quite grasped the risks.
mb - that's the suspicion and as we know, there are good reasons to keep it in mind.
dearieme - yes he will have to be careful, he must know things which are dangerous to know.
James - one of many unfortunately.
His five point plan to save the pubs was a bit underwhelming. Sounded like something your average politician would come out with
Bucko - yes, he's not impressive on specifics.
