Trump targets Beyonce, Bono and ‘The Boss’ in social media rants against celebrities who backed Kamala Harris
The social media rants came hours after Trump offered his support to his predecessor, former President Joe Biden, who announced that he was suffering from prostate cancer.
Last week, Springsteen described Trump’s administration as “corrupt, incompetent and treasonous.”
The Independent seems to be fond of applying the word 'rant' when it reports the words of its political opponents, particularly Donald Trump.

A quick search of the Independent website came up with 32,800 'rants'. That's a lot, maybe it's a ponderous clue for Independent readers - baddies rant but goodies don't.

I argue politely, you express strong views, he rants.
This type of political reporting (if that's what it's called) is getting increasingly flat, stale, and repetitive. In particular, it represents the day-to-day business of politics as shockingly new and decisive. I would think a lot of that is down to AI. It just hoovers up the latest output, and digs itself into a deeper and more ridiculous hole.
It can't be a 'rant' if it's the truth...
President Trump supporters probably wouldn't have bought the lefties' 'music' anyway!
Pity they didn't have Gary Lineker in there as well, that would have screwed up the requirements more than somewhat!
Peter - that seems to be it. No point arguing with an Independent reader - you would be accused of ranting.
Sam - much of it seems to be cheap, in the sense that it's done quickly to a formula, near enough copy and paste with a few edits.
Scrobs - Gary Lineker seems to have cleared off, I wonder what his next move will be?
"I wonder what his next move will be?" He'll claim to be the son of Holocaust survivors.
Bruce Springsteen complaining to the audience in the UK that he doesn't have free speech in the US is quite something.
I hate to bring up the subject of Gary Lineker again, but a meme, sent out after the numpty's view of Israel as a rat, showed a turd with a Palestine flag in it, below "Explaining Gary Lineker in 5 seconds".
Apart from that, rumours have it that Sky Sports or ITV are interested in employing him.
Penseivat
dearieme - even he might pull back from that idea. Wouldn't he?
Anon - yes, complaining about it in a country where tweets can mean jail time takes some chutzpah.
Penseivat - it would be no surprise if he has something lined up, but I bet "Explaining Gary Lineker in 5 seconds" had plenty of thumbs up.
