I find this kind of thing gives a real boost to the optimism gland. I don't want one of these machines but it is enormously heartening to see this guy make it just because he wanted to.
Yes, that's superb. It's in the same category as other videos you have posted here: the steam bike, and that monster of a car that belches flames. It does us good to see enthusiasts doing harmless things. We take delight, not in what they produce, but in delight itself.
Sam - yes it does do us good and that seems to be quite general. Is it primarily a male thing though? I'm not sure.
Scrobs - blimey, I can't imagine a modern version telling kids how to make keys. I suppose these days they would find the information on YouTube using a 3D printer.

I think I still have a Rupert Bear Annual in the roof, where our Star Bear floats a key down a tower so he can be rescued...
