Agreed. I've got very little interest in cars and things mechanical, but that was very enjoyable. I think the same would apply to any film of unaffected honest enthusiasm; it brings out the best in people.
Sam - yes, honest enthusiasm does bring out the best in people. It is infectious too, makes a chap want to give more time to his own interests or even discover new ones.
Scrobs - I had a Lambretta but didn't do much with it apart from paint it rather badly.
Demetrius - probably went the same way mine did. I had a good pair of goggles and a sheepskin flying jacket but where they went I've no idea.

I was hooked as soon as he mentioned the BSA Bantam - I did the same with a Lambretta, but now have a Golf, so didn't make the cut like he did!
I did do up a Fiat 500 years ago though...
